Also read what it says about single vehicle crashes. Remember what you said? If he had been in a different car and clipped a pole it would have been different. Remember that? At the beginning of the thread? Did you read the part where it said in a single vehicle crash weight didn't matter? Did you see any of the data that shows cars in the same weight class are NOT equal? You want an anecdote? How about two weeks ago when my wife and her friend walked away from a collision on the freeway with a SEMI going 55-65 mph in a TOYOTA CELICA. A crash that completely TOTALLED THE CELICA. And the WORST injury was my wife's broken finger!!!! You can down home it all you want Don but the data and ANECDOTAL evidence is there. Yes, in a collision with a 4500 pound car and a 2500 pound car, the 4500 pound car will win. But if the 2500 pound car is designed right, the occupants can often WALK AWAY. But if a 4500 pound car gets into a collision with another 4500 pound car that isn't engineered for shit, like oh the F150, what do you think is better? The engineered vehicle or the 4500 pound coffin. You can hide from it all you want. The truth is that engineering is the important matter. I will THANK Toyota for making a car that can crash into a semi truck and allow my wife and mother of my two children to WALK AWAY. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. I will take the engineered car everyday over the rolling deathtrap that is the Ford F150 or Ford Tribute. Hell, I think I'd rather be in a Pinto (wait, Ford made that also).
