Don't follow my example. I mowed lawns when I was 13 until I had the money for a scooter. After I saved up enough, My dad went out and got a used Honda Elite 150. It was huge (compared to my size at the time). He said, Here's the gas, there's the brakes. Off I went. Up and down the street, hey I was pretty good at this. Then I made a turn on some gravel.....Crash.....My interest in scooters almost ended that day. I think I said something to the effect of, "God damn it, I'll never ride that thing again." I did ride that thing again, but I learned everything about motorcycles the hard way. Save your girlfriend some scars...go for the MSF course. And get her a full face helmet!
