Coil = schmoil, what you want to know is hows the compression, does it even roll, what's the body/paintjob condition, tires, seat etc??? A new coil doesn't necessarily mean it'll run. Other things will cost a lot more than a coil. I wouldn't pay more than $250. If it's worth $800 the owner can get it running first.
