The web rocks... you can even learn more about gasoline in this crazy medium. Anyway, lead in the gas was to boost octane, and additionally engine designers up until the 70's relied on it to cushion the valve seats in four-stroke engines. Jake: can't you just use higher-octane UNleaded gas to get the same result in any one of our old scoots? -Maxo
