ET4 or old vintage?

I was thinking of getting a ET4 (when they start selling them) or an older vintage vespa for riding in San Francisco. Since there are a lot of steep hills I wanted to know if the ET4 could manage it or should I go for the old one? If I get an older one which model is most powerful? Thanks!@
