Broke Malossi piston skirt..removing flywheelI used the old nylon rope in the cylinder trick to act as a stop for the piston while removing the flywheel nut for a routine checkup. It seems that that trick jams the piston not only on the cylinder head, but also on the sidewall of the cylinder. Upon startup, it seized after a few seconds. The skirt on a Malossi piston is thin, and probably did not withstand the side forces on the cylinder wall exerted while tightening the flywheel nut. Luckily nothing is damaged but the piston. It seized because chunk got lodged between the crank and the cranckase. Can I use the still perfect rings on a new piston so I don't have to break in the rings again? Any help appreciated. francois
