"Hotrod Cushman"

Has anyone ever actually made a Cushman go fast? I've had a few in the past, and I know you won't really get much out of a small Husky engine. Has anyone performed any kind of engine swap? Some of the older Cushman models look so damn cool...

We have a guy in our club who has a brigs v twin in his super eagle with a truckster transmission, runs 75mph and hauls up hills.
still a piece of shit for brakes, handling and quality. not the refined machine a vintage Italian scooter is.
Its not exactly quick either under most conditions even the allstate 125s leave him behind , untill long straight stretches and like i said hills.
Its a pretty common conversion!!!!

There are a few old guys in the Portland area who come out for rallies once in a while. I haven't seen them in a few years.

One of them lives in Vancouver Washington. He works with the later Cushman engine that was used in the last few years of Cushman, the all aluminum OMC. These bikes are beautiful and fast.

I don't think many people tune the Husky engines since it's so much easier to swap some other small engine in instead.

Here are some picture of some hot rod cushman's from the Vintage Motorbike club. Take a look at the one with the Crosley 4 cylinder engine.

Enjoy,
Mark
