I made the mistake of buying a cheap scooter for the wife. Less than a month and 300 miles and the thing is showing its lack of quality. Cosmetic problems:
The left mirror mount threads are stripped. The bezel around the ignition key tends to vibrate loose and fall out.
Mechanical problems:
It tends to bog down off the line and has conked out several times. The most fun was today when the wife was stranded because it would not start. The wiring harness below the seat area came loose and proceeded to strip the wires bare from rubbing on the tire. I managed to insulate the wires with some electrical tape and then duct-taped them up out of the way long enough so I could drive it the 10miles home.
I am taking it back to the dealer for the Nth time and asking for my money back again. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau also.
When I get the money back I plan to buy a new Kymco. My Kymco Super9 rocks and the ZX50 looks like a great machine also.
