there is a shop in my town that is selling the chinese knock off twist n gos(possibly non-street legal ones) along side the asian restos. should i do anything? its in laguna beach, southern California. dont know what its called now but about a year or so ago it was called rainbow bikes. |

First thing, go there. See what the brands are. If you havent heard of them, then get a VIN off of one, even if its just the first 3 digits. Then, ask them if they give you the plates when you buy. If not, then they are illegal. SE |

I just drove through there today... 2 blocls from Las Brisas (my favorite restaurant in the world...) I think the name of the place is RBS or RB something... I saw they were selling Tank outside. Urban Sporty. (We ate at The Greater) Javier

The are listed as a Derbi dealer too.
They also have one of those CPI (I think that is what they are) 50s - the one that is a cheap version of the new GP1s.
I swear it looks like a bike shop that has a couple of scooters inside and a couple outside.Las Brisas? Really - I always was un-impressed by the food. I'll take the decor at the Royal Hawaiian any day. |

damn you guys are close. come into the coffee bean in the pavillions center. if Marc is working(me,i have somewhat of a beard but not really, my nametag says "emperor") say you ride scooter and you can get a drink or something, depending on whose working of course. it would be nice to meet some locals scooterists. |

but yeah, back on topic. it was a bike shop for as long as i can remember but just like a year ago it turned into a bike/ scooter shop. i thought what i saw outside was an illegal bike but after sifting through pictures it looks like it might be a tank. or at least styled like one. when the guy came in i said that they looked like chinese knock offs and he said "yeah we have a few of those, and some vientamese vespa restorations" so thats all im going on. maybe tomorrow ill stop by and pick up some better info. |
