I posted a small review of scooter styles available on the market for a friend who is looking to pick up his first scoot overon my blog the other day... Seems I offended a guy that sells Chinese scooters and mini bikes: michal milstead Says:

Although Vespa scooters are at the top end of gas scooters there are plenty of affordable scooters from China avalible. There are great example at many scooter sites as in (URL of Mike’s business removed) who offer Retro and Euro styles form 49cc to 150cc. More and more people are turning to scooters for their daliy commute and they are just plain fun to run errands on, the China markets offer good and not so good models so research them before buying makning sure you buy from a reputable dealer that gives it to you straight for what you need in a scooter. Since I posted a link back here to the BBS for anyone else venturing by my little blog, I figured a post here asking for everyone's opinion on some of the manufacturer's that potential buyers should beware. Anyone want to help me out?

I don't get your point. What exactly is illegal? Isn't the whole point of this section to post illegal bikes? Why should people be responding to this message? |

After doing a search to find specific manufacturer names of scooters we all agree are of poor quality, nothing came up here... The purpose of this post is to have a thread of record that can be searched to help folks stopping by here to research a scooter purchase.
We all know the tell tale signs of a shitty scooter and a questionable dealer/website, but a lot of noobs don't. I think it would be a valuable resource to have a list of manufacturer names, and maybe even little reviews or links to internal reviews already done, that are known in the community to be sub-par/bad/illegal... And I thought this would be a good place for it, unless there is someplace else that would be better suited. Hell, I'd even host it myself, but rather than compile the list myself I'd like to get everyone's input.

Well the problem with the logic is that most of the "bad" scooter part or "good" scooter is subjective and even sometimes cost relative. So its kinda hard to just call something Bad and or good and qualify that.... Because some people are going to call something good thats in my opinion bad or visa versa. You end up arguing that rather than just "listing" them. And none of it would go without challenge. |
