This thread may seeem similar to the ones below but I am posting it to warn others. Order a VC-Nitro from backstreetscooters.com and according to their website I should recieve tracking in 3 days, yeah right, its been about 3 weeks. Their phone don't work and I could never get hold of them. I emailed them at least 10 times, the last three was for requesting a refund. They did respond twice though, the first saying I will get tracking that night, the secound by the end of the week, and I did not recieve any tracking# or replys afterwards. It also seem like a generic email with no account of who I was, look like they copied and paste the same answer to all their customers. I had a Post going on in thier own Fourm, nothing bad, it was a count of how many days it took for me to get tracking, I think I was on day 16 when they deleted their whole fourm. I guess they don't want customers to post about their website, I wonder why. I have recently filed a complaint with paypal and the bbb. I request only to get my money back or tracking, I hate to do it but at least it gives them some pressure to answer me. I will keep up dates on this Fourm since they deleted thier own fourm. |

Yes I sent them payment already, on oct 19.. After I sent payment I went to your website and you told me about the new policy with verucci and how you don't offer warrenty or deal with internet sales but it was too late. I am hoping paypal is able to get my funds, if not any one else know other way to get my money back.

I bought a PS2 on ebay and paid via paypal. To make a long story short, after recieving the money the person disappeared, shut off email, phone, etc., and after all was said and done Paypal told me that the only way I'd get my money back is if they can get the money back from the seller. Which of course never happened. So even though it says on the paypal website that they insure up to whatever, no they don't, and unless Paypal gets ahold of your scooter seller to get the money back from them, Paypal will do jack for you. Seems like a lot of them just have a web site they run out of their living room and are nothing but order takers. They can't give you a tracking number until the thing gets shipped out of a warehouse 1000 miles away by yet another company. According to their web page, they are a real location in florida.. I am not to worried about getting my money back, I don't think that should be a problem, The lack of responce is what is bothering me, they should at least refund me the money at the first sighn of trouble not wait until I file a claim. I still did not recieve my mony back yet and should have know better than to by the Verucci Nitro. This is the third time I am trying to buy this bike, first two were on ebay and I was lucky enough to get a refund right away. I should have know it was the distributer that was the source of the problem. They no longer do internet sales or drop shippment but there are still a lot of websites out there that offer their products. |

I filed a complaint with paypal on the 11/3/05 and they still have not responded, so i am going to file a claim with the The Internet Fraud Complaint Center (IFCC) tommorow. I told them my actions if they do not refund me my money. Hopefully it works, I hate to file a calim but they leave me with no choice. |

I just found out that hurricane wilma damage the verucci distributer in folrida and that they are unable to ship my product for, not sure how long, Javer told me this not backstreet... I guess thats a good reason why there is a delay but at least backstreet should refund my money and stop leaving me hanging in the dark. Oh well my claim with paypal is almost up, 4 more days of no response and the claim is in my favor.. Sucks to cause I really wanted that scooter.. I really think its a sign that I should not own that scooter. IT took 3 bad dealers, new distributer policys, and a hurracine to make my orders not go through. |

I got a email from backstreet, finally and the reason they have not answered my email was because Jonie, the owner, was in the hosipital for three weeks. If this is true I feel bad, If it is not than thats a horrible excuse to tell someone because you are unable to sell me the bike. She said that they are able to get the bike but are having trouble shipping it here and promised me the details later on tonight, well see, I have been promised this two times before and both times they left me in the dark for another week just to respond with the same email. I am keeping my claim with paypal until I get a tracking # |

I really had the worst experience with backstreetscooter, Here are the three emails they sent me in order 10/26/05 "hello, I am sorry not to get back to you, we have had some bad weather here, I will have heidi get the tracking numbers to you later today." 11/1/05 "hello, I am sorry not to get back to you, betwen the storms and I have been in the hospital we are behind on shipping, I will get you your tracking number and get your order out to you by the end of the week, again sorry for the delay." 11/8/05 hello, we are able to get the bike, the shipping companys are having some problems getting to the west coast and we have been trying to solve this, and for the past two weeks miami has had its oun problem with the storms, we also have had the last storm to deal with, I am sorry for all the delays, and I have not responded because for the last 3 weeks I have been in the hospital, sorry, I am the only one who runs the office to email you back.I will get back to you later today , we haveanother shipper who can get to your area and will email you the details.Still no tracking, still no refund...Whats up with these people...Three times they promised tracking three times they don't give me one. |

When Wilma came through two weeks ago it was about 125 miles south of me, and about 200 miles south of them. In Tampa, we had 35-45 mph winds, and very little damage -- they should have received much less than that, if any effecta at all Since then, we haven't had any storms, let alone even rain to speak of.If you get your money back, buy from a local shop -- the few hundred dollars you saved was completely wasted in aggravation. I live in Las Vegas, Nevada.. No Verucci dealers around me... I would love to buy one from a dealer but i can't so I tried to buy one online.. THe closes dealer is in claifornia.. I tried to buy form them but the distributer no longer does drop shipment and i have no way of bringing one home so I was left with little choice... Still no response from backstreet.....I can't believe there not responding to the claim I put through to paypal.. I guess they rather let their account get suspended..... |

I posted on ripoff.com today, hope that will get some attention from them. They have the worst customer service by far from anyone I have delt with and that includes ebay. Do not buy from them unless you expect to never get any updates/tracking/conformation of your item... They actually have a 3 complaints on ripoff.com for this year, 4 from the BBB, all similar to mine. |

yeah, I figured that they are giving me a bunch of excuses and I am not sure which one is true, There is the weather, the shipping department, the hospital, and god knows what else.. Well the 10 day mark is here from paypal with noresponse from seller...Wonder why theydid not respond to claim? I believe their account will get suspended now, hopfully, so others don't go through the same ordeal.. |

After alomst a month of no response for tracking I got my money back today, yay... What a waste of time.Backstreetscooters did not refund the money willingly I had to wait the 10 days of no response from paypal after I filed the claim to get my money back, luckly they had enough money in their account. This is the last I am going to post on this topic since any troubles I had with them is now over.. Thanks for all the support and hopefully no one has to go through what I have been through.. |

I decided to buy a motorcycle instead, too much trouble trying to buy anything online, I figured the verucci nitro would have made a great starter bike but too much trouble trying to get it to vegas, oh well, I should open a shop and become a verucci dealer, J/K Jacar....But I do see a market in vegas, alot of students that need transport.. |

Reported Sep 16 05 7) New part sent, but the same wrong part 8) New part sent, again the wrong part. Due to delay, Backstreetscooters agreed to cover installation of correct part over phone. 9) Throw in some problems with FEDEX Ground transport unable to find address for 2 weeks, but correct part was delivered on Oct 25 05 - unfortunately damaged. 10) Oct 26 05 part returned via FEDEX 11) Confirmed that part was received by Backstreetscooters but no claim filed by them with FEDEX 12) Unable to contact by either phone number listed. No reply to internet attempts x 3 13) Located providers of phone numbers Bell South and Power Net Global. Learned that 888 618 8615 has been disconnected. 352 489 9861 - the line is working.Am I crazy to hold on here. I can do the BBB claim, but do they help or just post problems for future victims. Looking to any suggestions. |

I really don't own a scooter anymore, thanks to backstreetscooters so I guess I should bid fairwell to this forum. I figured a scooter would be a fun way to step up to a bike with out the hassle of regestration, insurance, and M license. Oh one more thing, they do check their emails but I belive they choose not to respond to them, I notice they only responded when I filed a claim with the BBB and Ripoff reports... |

thx for the reply - there is some comfort in knowing that the battle is not being waged alone. Did use the credit card - likely used paypal (my son was handling this until things started getting ugly) however we have the scooter at least 90% of it. Still waiting for the correct cylinder head kit, so not sure how much the credit card people could help. Yesterday I initiated a claim with FEDEX to try to get reimbursement for the part that was delivered damaged (genuinely think FEDEX did the damage here), because can't get hold of Backstreetscooters to have them do it. If we could just get the part from them, we could walk away from this. But looking at the big picture - we gave them the money in August and still no operable scooter. Snow is falling in Kansas, and while that won't stop a real rider, it does take some of the fun out it. Sent out a certified letter to Backstreetscooters today. Will keep an open mind till I hear what FEDEX has to say. But will keep BBB and Ripoff addresses handy. Hope Backstreetscooters reads this and kicks in on that customer service jargon that they spew in their ad. |

Just saw that myself today. sent a certified letter saying if I didn't get the part, or at least the ok to make a claim with FEDEX for the damaged part, within 10 days "I'd take legal action". Will still try BBB. There is someone receiving their mail, got the name on the return receipt, but the business seems to have gone ka-blooey. I'm half tempted to fly down there and walk in for the part. Maybe will try for Dunellon Chamber of Commerce or something like that just to see what they know. What a headache! Anyone out there have any other suggestions. |

Oh well should not have kept my money for over a month and and file a claim to get my money back, should have refunded me the money at the first sign of trouble.. Hey Margie did you try to go through the manafacture instead? I believe that is what Backstreet would do. Just skip the middle man and try filing the claim yourself, Hopefully they sent you a proof of purchase or something.. |

Now, now don't go taking on that kind of guilt, more likely months and months of poor customer service and total lack of responsibility brought down Backstreetscooters. Thanks for the suggestion - I'll check with my son on that proof of purchase - I know he has a title, so hopefully other paperwork as well. So did you figure it out - yes, I'm the mom, taking over this fiasco - or did that line "total lack of responsibility" give me away. |
