Try a CPI Oliver City. They are very reliable and in your price range. SUNL has poor support, and ETON is better at manufacturing ATV's than they are scooters.

Avoid SUNL. They sell cheap low quality JUNK. The warranties are not worth the paper they're written on and YOU CAN'T GET PARTS.

I had an 2002 Eton Beamer and it was a great scooter.
Only reason I got ride of it was because I wanted to trade up to a 150cc.
Mine came with a 1 year parts and labor warranty. (Though in 2 years I never had the slightest issue with it.) And if I did there are about 10 Brick and Mortar dealers (Both motorcycle and scooter) in a 50 mile radius to where I live. There are also performance parts and accessories available.

so does this mean that everything coming out of china is rubbish. how can that be if so many scooters from chinese factories are sold all around the world? surely this must be a generalisation.

SUNL is a manufacture that sells a lower cost scooter. However, they have grown up recently. Most of there problems are not the quality, but the dealerships that sell them. If you go to a reputable dealership where the dealership offers a warranty, like with Honda, Yamaha, etc. you will get great service, parts and good support. If you buy off the back of a truck, do not get a warranty, from the front of some ones yard, a trader’s bazaars, etc... You are getting replica, damaged goods, and most likely self assembled (poorly) goods. When buying go to reputable dealers. I have bought SUNL, the right way, and I will put my ATVS, Scooters, Dirt bikes and motorcycles against anyone else. They are maintained well, run great. These kinds of vehicles are run hard on rough terrain. If you do not have repairs then you are not really a rider. It is funny if you look at the top riders in Dirt bikes and ATVs out there you will find people on SUNL. I guess it is not all bad. I have bought other brands before and had parts issues, paid more 4 times more money and got screwed. But it is not because Honda was bad, or Polaris. It was the dealership and people. Which by the way outsource most of there pieces from china because the japs and Korea can not really compete with price to quality with china (5 billion people cannot all be wrong). I think SUNL has had its growing pains to make it is a Honda world (Honda is the Wal-Mart of the industry) But they are up and coming, backed by Money in China. I predict they are on a big up turn and will grow buy leaps and bounds real shortly. I for one will not be on the other side of the coin. Honda needs to be made to compete. This kind of new company will be there a wake up call. If you like paying high prices do not want new people to come to the market, do not believe in our capitalist American culture, and then by all means, bash the new guy. I notice one of you posted the SUNL email of individuals that work in the distributor offices. That is wrong. If your Honda breaks down do you go to the Honda Disturbers and manufacturing plant to get your Honda fixed? I guarantee they will send you away if you did. You should be made at the dealer who sold it to you. You should have got a warranty from them like I did.

Just buy smart.

You are either A) a SUNL dealer....B) an employee of SUNL, or C) smoking CRACK. SUNL is a SCUMBAG company that cares nothing about service after the sale or supplying parts. They only care about getting your money and telling you later....much LATER. I've dealt with these scumbags for 2 yrs as I'm also in Dallas TX and 15 miles from their national warehouse. BUY SUNL and you may as well be throwing your money in the trash. These people sell substandard Chinese trash and do not support it after the sale.

Correction....SUNL doesn't manufacture anything!
They are just importers. They buy, import into the U.S.
Then sell and ignore. They dump this cheap Chinese stuff on the American market via an army of EBAY dropshippers, take the money and ignore the poor buyer who has problems or needs parts.

Yea buy smart....I agree...DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM SUNL!
Dude....you can blame it on the dealership all you want....I know people who've bought directly from SUNL at the Dallas warehouse and gotten screwed. I've known people who've bought from online dealers and gotten screwed. It doesn't matter where you buy it....if it's from SUNL, you just threw your money away. SUNL's 30 day warranty is complete garbage.
SUNL does not have parts!

So you been looking at a SUNL scooter at Scootertown in Arlington?
I'd suggest you look elsewhere. These people sell poorly manufactured junk, their warranties are useless, and replacement parts/service are non-existant.

Scootertown has 46 negatives on EBAY this year.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Good one....you're joking right?
go back to whatever you're smoking!
SUNL is 7-10 yrs behind the quality of the Japanese.
SUNL's business model is to bring in cheap Chinese junk
by the container, dump it ASAP, take the money and run.
NO PARTS! and definitely NO SERVICE!
And you say SUNL offers a warranty?
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Now I know you're smoking some bad crack!

SUnl is now selling CFMOTO. They have screwed up the specs so badly that is beyond sad, either that or the CFMOTO has gained 3 hp 2 ft lbs of torque, leather seats and an oil pressure guage. The pressure guage is actually the temp guage. If they are as bad as everyone indicates, look for CFMOTOs to get a bad rep very quickly unfortunately.

YES SUNL is that bad. SUNL and it's army of EBAY dropshippers and dealers sell by deceit and fraud. They continually use false advertising, bloated specs and downright lies to sell their products. For example....I continually see 250cc SUNL go karts on EBAY listed as 26hp (they are 17hp), 65mph top speed (45mph is tops on a good day), and even list them as street legal (trust me....you won't get these registered for the road in most states).
Then when the poor victim (buyer) gets the product and needs any kind of parts or service, he's either completely ignored or given the SUNL runaround. Seller says to contact SUNL, SUNL says to contact dealer.....complete run around and before the buyer knows it, the whopping 30 day warranty is up.
It's a complete CON job and scam.

I purchased a 2005 SUNL Adventure 150cc scooter on ebay last year in august for $1000 plus $200 shipping. I received it within 1 week via truck drop ship in a steel crate. I assembled it, put gas in it, started up ok, licenced, registered and insured it all in one day no problems, did the obvious break-in requirements for the first 300 miles, changed out all fluids after break-in. I use this scooter all the time to get around and to this day I have 3000 miles on it and have had no problems with it and I always average around 50 to 55 mph top speed and at least 60 mpg fuel usage. When I bought this scooter online I had never even heard of SUNL. I just liked the price. I'm sorry all of you have had bad experiences with SUNL products but from my experience so far SUNL seems to be a pretty reliable product. If anyone has this same exact scooter, let me know what problems you have with it and I will offer any help I can..I know quite a bit about motorcycles.

I just got a SUNL 150cc Cozumel. As you probably experienced - it came with no instructions for assembly. Here's where I could use some assist. I ensured the oil levles were fine.... added gasoline - assembled all parts... charged the battery. Tuned it over and it started - a littel white smoke out the tailpipe while it warmed up. It ran 30 seconds on the stand and then stopped running. I have spark but it merely turns over. I am afraid I might have no compression and thus a dead scooter. Was there something I failed to do upon assembly - a "pin to remove in the fuel pump?" or something that simple? fuse somewhere?

Your thoughts invited. jgorland@ix.netcom.com

I bought a SUNL 150T-27 Scooter. It only has 1700 miles on it and appears to be leaking some oil alredy. I have change the oil twice as instructed in the break in. Dumped some auto oil sealer in and hopes it corrects the leak.

i had the sunl 150cc advenger scooter, i can get parts with no problems and i had no problems with mine except at 65MPH yes i said 65MPH on the 150cc i lost the exshust gasket o-ring, replaced it and no problems. i am now getting the SunL 250cc water cooled, and i can cruise at 70MPH i hit 80MPH on a smooth flat surface with no wind pushing against me. only problem with it is at 60+MPH the front end starts to shake, meaning the front tire needs to be balanced, we are looking for a place close to the dealer so we can start to have the 250cc scooter tires all balanced. for those that have problems with the sunl scooter is cause you didnt break it in correctly and you are probaly riding it hard, like teens would naturally do, i was one at one time. The best thing to do with ANY brand of scooter or moped is to break it in properly, then it will last long. and just FYI the bands Tank, Hammer, BMX, freedome and a few others is made by SunL. they are great scooters and will last a long time, just take care of them.

Wrong. SUNL does not manufacture anything. SUNL Group is nothing
more than an importer and distributor (JUNK DEALER). They find cheap stuff over in China, import it in by the container, and dump it on the unsuspecting American public. Again .....they DO NOT MANUFACTURE ANYTHING!

i agree. I had the 150cc scooter no problems and now upgrading to the 250cc. the reason why people have so many problems with theres is cause they are NOT BREAKIN THEM IN CORRECTLY! I have no problems and monday thur friday on the way to work i use to get my 150cc up to 65MPH for about 1 1/2 miles till i had to slow down, same thing on the way home, just blew out the exshust o-ring, replaced it and no problems. just break it in they way the manual says to.

So Chris (and Barry, Irv, Christine and Tony)....how's the job at SUNL going? How does it feel to lie to people about the whopping 30 day parts only warranty? (which SUNL rarely if ever honors). Does it make you happy when you lie to people about being able to get parts? Does it feel GOOD when you sell one of those defective junk ATVs or go karts to a single mom for her son, and it immediately breaks, huh does that excite you? Does it get you off when grandparents spend money they really don't have for their grandkids and wind up with complete and totally useless junk.....and you can then ignore repeated emails for parts, support and help? Do you feel good when a Dad spends his hard earned money for a go kart for his kids and it doesn't work or run? What do you care.....you got your money and the customer has a pile of junk! It's all about making money isn't it? What happened to morals? What happened to telling the truth? What happened to common decency? What happened to treating your fellow man like you would like to be treated? What is wrong with you people at SUNL?

Yes I have sold Sunl since 2004. Being able to get parts has improved over the years. I sold a Sunl B2 50cc Scoter to the guy next door in 2004 and to my suprise it still runs today. He beat it , used wd-40 instead of 2 stoke oil, and jumps ditches , everything. It still runs but the cluth is going out. Still driveable just pops a wheely on take off. It was made by QingQi oem for Sunl thats all they are to my knowledge just like many others . Verrucci is also made by QingQi . Sunl has a 90 day warrenty. Try American Lifan they have a 6mo parts and labor thats what I drive.

Dealer who sold scooter in 2004 is surprised that it's still running today. I'm impressed.

I can not, nor will I ever believe that someone used wd-40 instead of motor oil.

I call bullsh*t on that.

I use it on my door hinges and on padlocks around the house. Not to lube the internals of my scooter.

Just bought a "Sunl" 150cc. It's great! Very sporty looking too!
I did this, ordered from a dealer in ATL and had the scooter shipped diredt to me at my office in NYC. Minor assembly stuff such as put on the front wheel and fender, handle bars, seat, back rack, minors, battery comes dry so you need to add the acid. All in all took me 1 1/2 hours on a Sat morning in my office to assembly, didn't need tools of any special kind, used my box wrenches, and socket wrench, screw driver and the other stuff you would need comes in the tool kit. small stuff really. I just put 200 miles on it since last Wed. when I got it all registered and plated.

Rides nice. I had a Vespa 125cc when I lived in London, and I'd put it against that and the 150cc easy. It will hit 55 mph with easy, as I am still breaking it in, I have only hit 65 twice. It boggs down in a steep up hill climb but for around town like NYC, it moves quick.

It's turns a lot of heads because at first glance it looks like a Ninja. I would say all in all I like very much.

If you want to know more or see a picture of my 150cc drop me a line gfaulds@hotmail.com

Your on something if you put sunl and vespa in the same msg. SUNL is a pos.I have one i know. So the sooner you take your head out of your butt and get rid of the scooter you.ll be better off. Mine has 850 miles its got a bunch of "minor" things wrong with it took it out for a ride the throttle cable broke THE ONLY reason i wasn't KILLED is that i live in the country and no traffic. Yes it was broken in properly had oil changes etc. Take your i love sunl elsewhere because the above is what they really are not your post. I found this board after i bought it. I own a vespa and totally feel safe riding it. Have fun.

Where is there a steep uphill climb in NYC? I think not.

Don't waste your time and money on a SUNL product.
They don't provide ANY AFTER THE SALE SUPPORT!
DON'T HAVE ANY PARTS. AND SIMPLY CAN'T ANSWER
ANY TECHNICAL QUESTIONS! In short, they are an utterly
and completely useless place to buy from. They just
want to empty that container from China, count the money
and tell you to get screwed. NO RETURNS and NO EXCHANGES!
If it breaks...then sorry. NO RETURNS and NO EXCHANGES!
Need a part. NO RETURNS and NO EXCHANGES!
Need it worked on or some service? NO RETURNS and NO EXCHANGES!
Got a question? NO RETURNS and NO EXCHANGES!
Not happy? NO RETURNS and NO EXCHANGES!
Sorry... the warranty has expired!!!

I bought a SUNL 250 ATV four months ago.
I've never been able to ride it. This company does not have the parts
to fix or support what they sell and won't honor the warranty. I'd suggest you buy something other than a SUNL product.

slowly back away from the sunl scooter ,dont look directly at the sunl scooter ,when you have about 10 feet between you and the sunl run for your life and hold onto your wallet. ( from my many dealings with sunl )
